Snack Bar Attendant

OVERVIEW

Under limited supervision participates in the inventory, preparation and service of Snack Bar operations while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to food and beverage safety
Assist in maintaining inventory and proper storage of food and beverage items and supplies
Ability to properly manage cash and accurately open and close the register
Serving beer/wine (cans only). Open to learning more about rotating beer selection
Assembling sandwiches and hot dogs; prepares and serves food and beverages
Participates in maintaining clean dining and service areas; assists with washing dishes
Schedules routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed (i.e. hood cleaning, safety inspection)
Takes measures to prevent food waste
Operates cash register and credit card sales
Operates a variety of kitchen/serving utensils and supplies while exercising care and safety in the use of all equipment
Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Knowledgeable of DHEC, ServSafe and SC laws and regulations
Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one to two years of food and beverage experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
ServSafe Food Handler Certification; will train
ServSafe Alcohol Certification: will train
Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will train

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

No supervisory responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to operate a variety of kitchen appliances, equipment and utensils, etc. Must be able to exert up to 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and lift/carry weights of up to twenty-five pounds.
