FLYERS Navigator Site Coordinator

OVERVIEW

Under limited supervision, facilitate the daily operations of the designated after school program site for middle age students. Manage and mentor staff to create a strong team that continually engages in activities with youth and provides academic support and enrichment that enhances youth’s social skills, develops positive life skills and extends learning in a fun and safe environment.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Supervises staff and implements proactive decision-making; maintains high standards of safety
Leads team meetings and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, laws and regulations
Provides assessments of the program and mentors staff with effective goal-setting
Develops and maintains effective communication and positive working relationships
Oversees used areas and ensures other shared school space is well maintained
Facilitates programming to meet the needs of the youth
Other duties as assigned

Strong decision making, organizational, versatility, initiative, and human relation skills
Strong supervisory skills
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks
Above average interpersonal skills with strong written/oral communication skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people and circumstances
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Some supervisory experience preferred
Ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of others
Negative PPD/Tuberculosis Testing
Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will train

Middle School Afterschool Club Facilitators/ Afterschool Teachers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods.
