FLYERS Site Administrative Assistant

OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this role is to provide support to the FLYERS team in the way of completing specific tasks such as: Newsletters, communications, organizing rosters, snack paperwork, as well as taking attendance and checking in/out students. The tasks to be completed will be at the discretion and need of the Site Coordinator to best support the FLYERS program onsite. The Afterschool Site Administrative Assistant is a part of the team with expectations to engage with and supervise children, as well as setup/prep/clean up that takes place throughout the day as needed.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Completes organizational tasks as determined by the Site Coordinator.
Develops and maintains effective communication and positive working relationships
Assists in keeping all site data accurate and up to date
Uses proactive decision-making and best practices toward a healthy and safe environment
Assure used areas and shared school space is well maintained
Will take lead to facilitate the daily schedule in the absence of a Site Coordinator
Assists Group Leads with the supervision of children
Other duties as assigned

Organizational, versatility, initiative, and human relation skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Above average interpersonal skills with strong written/oral communication skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people and circumstances

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Negative PPD/Tuberculosis Testing
Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will train

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and maintain a higher level of activity.
