Human Resources Training Coordinator

OVERVIEW
Under occasional supervision provides assistance and facilitates all Company training opportunities.  Able to identify needs, deliver training and/or coordinate with training opportunity via outside sources.  Identifies staff development strategies for career pathing and growth.  Provides quality programs to educate employees in all aspects of jobs.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Develops training strategies, initiatives, and materials appropriate to meet training initiatives
  • Able to lead training; able to identify specialized training and coordinate trainer and logistics
  • Assists with career development; identifies strategies to prepare staff for possible future roles and development
  • Works closely with department managers to prioritize training needs; reviews evaluation forms; gathers data and creates program to develop knowledge, skills and abilities for staff
  • Evaluates training opportunities and instructs/coordinates employee training for staff development in areas such as, but not limited to:
    • First Aid/CPR/AED
    • OSHA and Safety
    • ServeSafe – Safe Food Handler, Serve Safe Alcohol, Food Safety Manager
    • Diversity/Inclusion/Equity
    • Communication
    • Safe Driver Classes
    • Customer Service
    • Microsoft Office training / Outlook, Excel and Word assistance as needed
    • Harassment/EEOC
    • Interviews/Terminations
    • Supervisor 101
    • Senior Level Manager Training
    • Department specific learning snippets
  • Creates robust training calendar based on supervisor/employee needs and desired class frequency. Routine offerings: First Aid/Safety, CPR, D2L
  • Coordinates and monitors enrollment, schedules, costs and equipment
  • Measures training success through employee reviews and surveys; updates talent profiles
  • Manages Internship program
    • Connections with local schools and colleges
    • Promotes program and assists hiring managers with identifying qualified candidates for internships
    • Connects with managers and interns to review program success, learning opportunity goals met and manager/intern commitment to the program
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with managers; builds trust, able to get buy-in from managers
  • Understands importance of confidentiality; is honest and ethical; handles sensitive information with high degree of integrity
  • Above average computer skills with knowledge of MS Office; must be detail oriented and have good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, team building, and management skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, information technology, or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • 2-4 years of general experience working as a trainer, corporate training specialist or related position
  • ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

No supervisory responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Most work is sedentary; but it may be necessary to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
