Community Engagement and Special Projects Manager
The primary goal of the Community Engagement and Special Projects Manager is promoting and increasing participation and awareness of the ASC Greenway by developing relationships in the community and increasing awareness of our activities and programs. Specific areas of responsibilities include developing and implementing community engagement initiatives, including grant writing activities, that result in monetary support or strategic partnerships for the Greenway, in addition to managing the corporate and group volunteer program leading to the conversion of entry-level philanthropic partners, to include: recruitment, orientation, training, placement, deployment, retention and cultivation, recognition and stewardship, tracking and budgeting. Moreover, as special projects manager, organizing, leading or supporting in the execution of company-wide projects and strategic initiatives that may fall outside the scope of regular duties.
Assist the Advancement Director in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive community engagement program which delivers quality and diverse programming opportunities to create and grow relationships with prospective and existing investors and stakeholders in the community
Expand third-party and community-based fundraising program (crowdfunding initiatives)
Provide leadership for and budget management of the corporate volunteer initiatives and community engagement costs
Promotes awareness and liaises with the community to market ASC Greenway programs and engagement opportunities (volunteering, ways to give, affinity groups, etc.)
Leverages strong community relationships to successfully cultivate and secure entry-level corporate partnerships and grant funding opportunities
Fosters relationships and coordinate internal resources to increase partnership engagement with the Advancement team and further benefit the Greenway
Stewards relationships with volunteer and community groups to include speaking to groups about the ASC Greenway
Assists with planning of major fundraising and club volunteer activities produced by affinity groups (Greenway Ladies Guild and Colonel’s Club)
Acts as representative for the for the ASC Greenway when public outreach opportunities arise
Alongside the Advancement Director, serves as a liaison with Greenway leadership, department heads and board members, as appropriate, to ensure that organizational goals are being met.
Supports in the drafts schedules for implementation of long-range plans and proposals.
Assists with monitoring project progress, drafting and distributing periodic progress reports for leadership and stakeholders.
Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
ASCG Corporate and Group Volunteer Program
Organizes, coordinates and manages the volunteer program
Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including volunteer handbook and review of current forms and developing new forms as appropriate, administer and revise as needed
Liaison with departments to understand how they work, develop partnerships and assess their volunteering needs while raising staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers
Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organization
Recruit, interview and check references on prospective volunteers and ensuring they are appropriately matched and trained for a position and ensure there is appropriate support, orientation and training for volunteers
Maintain and expand community partnerships in support of student volunteer service programming
Manage volunteer information to include background checks in accordance with Company policy
Create and manage database to track volunteer interest, skills, knowledge, availability and hours worked
Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns
Organize and implement group volunteer events for corporations and external organizations
Prepare operational reports including volunteer monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Plan and execute all volunteer appreciation events and develop new, innovative ways to show appreciation to volunteers
Write submissions and/or coordinate volunteer submissions to the newsletter; keep existing volunteers informed via newsletters and other communications
Manage volunteer appreciation budget
Develop and implement an annual evaluation of the volunteer program by the volunteers
Visibility within the community and serve as advocate for the Company and services offered

Ability to handle multiple tasks, good decision making skills, leadership ability, above average computer skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written/verbal communication skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people and circumstances

Certificate in Volunteer Management and/or College degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to lead and direct the work of others
Current certification in CPR/First Aid (will train)
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION
This position has no direct staff supervisory responsibilities, but does supervise the internal, group and corporate volunteer force.
Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time as well as sedentary work.
