Advancement Events & Corporate Relations Manager


The Advancement Events & Corporate Relations Manager works in collaboration with the entire Advancement Department, particularly the Advancement Director and Advancement Manager, to oversee the planning and coordination of fundraising events, and cultivate corporate partnerships to support Greenway programming and events. The Advancement Events & Corporate Relations Manager will manage the logistics, revenue strategy, and donor stewardship – including benefits fulfillment – for fundraising events and select Greenway public programming.


Collaborate closely with the Advancement Director to set annual fundraising goals
Maintains a rigorous portfolio of private foundation and corporate partner opportunities
Utilizes pro-active prospect research methods as well as relationship mapping with the board of managers to identify new local and regional corporate partner opportunities
Craft strategies to sustain and increase contributed revenue, specifically from corporate and foundation partners
Develop engagement and cultivation strategy to secure new mid-level and major giving corporate and foundation partners for the Anne Springs Close Greenway
Oversee all financial, statistical, and demographic reporting for fundraising events and corporate giving activity
Plan and implement the Anne Springs Close Greenway’s major fundraisers, the Annual Greenway Ladies Guild’s Green Gala and Taste of Fort Mill events, as well as the Colonel’s Club Boil & Brew, ensuring the events’ success by carefully tracking expenses and revenue, and by generating sponsorship leads for each event
Plan and implement new revenue-maximizing opportunities to incorporate into existing fundraising events and apply to Greenway programs and public events as appropriate including:
The Greenway Speaker Series
Earth Day Open-Access Weekend
The Greenway Race Series
Summer Concert Series
Coordinate stewardship opportunities for enhanced visibility for Greenway Corporate Partners (The Trailblazer Program)
Coordinate all VIP and donor events hosted by the Advancement Department including, but not limited to:
Ribbon cuttings for new amenities (future, TBD)
Work directly with the Advancement Manager to plan and implement Friends of the Greenway stewardship events
Work directly with the Advancement Director to coordinate planned giving seminars and information sessions, potential for Legacy Giving Society (planned giving) luncheon with President and CEO
Develop a fluent understanding of the Anne Springs Close Greenway’s programs. Support the mission by participating in Greenway sponsored programs and events on a regular basis
Follow Leroy Springs & Company, Inc. Gift Acceptance Guidelines, Policies and Procedures. Provide input on updates as needed. Keep informed about the development field generally, and especially the tax aspects of charitable gifts and new legislation rulings affecting such gifts
Represent the Greenway at public events and functions and in applicable community and professional networks
Maintain a customer service demeanor at all times. Responds to donors with the appropriate level of urgency. Ask questions to identify donor’s needs or expectations in a pleasant and respectful manner. In completing tasks, continually consider the impact of those actions on the donor, and is flexible to accommodate donor’s needs
Work with the Marketing Department to ensure consistent organizational branding
Performs other duties as required

Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Must be a detail and goal oriented, enthusiastic individual able to exercise independent judgment in completing tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Demonstrated organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and move quickly from one to another while maintaining thorough records. Ability to be flexible and balance competing priorities
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, budget and projections
Knowledge of local, state and federal funding sources and procedures
Ability to conduct prospect research
Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Education/ Experience Requirements
Demonstrated success (2-5 years) in special event fundraising
Special events background required, preferably for a nonprofit organization
Experience working with and managing relationships with high level donors
Experience managing a committee of community volunteers, including board members and high level donors, involved in the planning process of fundraising events

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of direct leadership in nonprofit or comparable sales or business development experience and/or equivalent prior experience in leading or working within a comprehensive advancement program preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when appropriate.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment including computers, calculators, general office equipment, telephone, camera, etc. Able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to walk long distances over various terrains during events and activities.


No supervisory responsibilities


Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
