Sourcing Team Leader – APE

The role

  • Responsible of the Sourcing Strategy (for his/her Division)
    • Map the supplier base risk management & opportunities
    • Formalize the sourcing 3 years Strategy, with measurable targets
    • Coordinate the action plans roll-out for each commodity and by supplier
  • Responsible of the Sourcing Performance (for his/her Division)
    • NPD, Track sourcing activities to reach Master Specification targets
      • Promote innovation from suppliers
      • Challenge R&D on standardization, modularity, easier design, use of standard parts …
      • Negotiate parts price with suppliers to achieve project cost goals
      • Coordinate the new parts qualification with SQA, R&D, other buyers
      • Deliver on-time fast prototype & first batch, within project cost
      • Drive quote/feasibility estimate activities during pre-study phase
    • Sourcing Leadership, by effective benchmarking of performances
      • Market conditions (Price, Quality, technologies …)
      • Develop & use innovative tool like “Sheet Metal doctor” for 0 base costing, e-auctions, VMI, …
      • Be inspired by other PCs performance and best practices
         
  • Lead a team of Sourcing buyers
    • Define a strategy to improve the Team performance, make an appropriated action plan to reach annual targets, and track them via KPI.
    • Make monthly reports (on-time & pertinent) to communicate on trends & on commitment status.
    • Optimize the Planning of employee tasks & use Visual Management principals
    • Adjust the workload by employee, and anticipate up-down capacity needs.
    • Ensure team respect law, norm, corporate guidelines (like The way we do things, Business Code of Practice, CSA, Internal Audits), local procedures.
    • Evaluate the individual performance via the Matrix skill & make appraisals. As consequence, define training plan to develop the employee’s competence, and to reach more flexibility.
    • Motivate the Employee to have a good team spirit, taking challenges, generating ideas for improvements & innovation, to be open for quick implementation of changes.
    • To ensure that the Employee fulfil their job description

 

Skills and experience

  • Mechanical Bachelor Degree Engineer, Master is a plus.
  • Able to read a technical drawing with tolerances & specifications
  • Fluent in English
    Experience requirements
  • 10+ years in supplier management of mechanical products, with proven record of contract negotiation, New Product Development & supplier strategy.
  • Exposition to International business environment & Large company, in Automotive industry or similar, knowing the supplier base around South Carolina
  • Use of IT tools like CAO, ERP (BPCS), MS-Excel, MS-Planner
  • Technical knowledge on compressor, engine, cooler, electric panel is a benefit
  • Good understanding of the commodity market trends like raw material prices …
