Product Engineer

Your mission
Maintains current production Bills of Material and drawings for a range of products that are currently in production. In addition, be a driving force for cost reduction opportunities for existing production applications.

The role

Product Maintenance and Engineering – Prepare and initiate Design Notifications (DN’s) for existing production products for the Power and Light (PAL) Division of Power Technique.  Initiate and/or revise drawings as required per Design Notifications. Provide continuing technical support for the assembly/production and quality processes including troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Also provide technical support for Sales, Marketing and Service operations relevant to existing products.

Cost Reduction Opportunities – Evaluate current production products for cost reduction opportunities. Define and prioritize with Purchasing these cost reduction opportunities and act as the Engineering Team leader in these endeavors. The position requires the employee to be able to effectively communicate with others outside the company such as suppliers and vendors.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience

  • Good command of English is required. Other languages are a plus
  • Good command of a 3-D CAD software is required
  • Other software skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required
  • Committed to accuracy and detail
  • Must have a proven track record of positive results
  • Must be customer-oriented

 1-2 years as an Engineer in construction equipment product development preferred but not required

  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and Bills of Material
  • Prior experience working with Portable Energy equipment is a definite plus

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
