Business Development Manager – Airplan, Compressor Technique

The Role

Business Development (50%) – In consultation with the Business Line Manager/Vice Presidents, create and implement business development and marketing communications plans. Present plans to Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Managers and coordinate/motivate sales efforts to achieve established growth and sales goals. Provide monthly reports to management regarding the effectiveness of business plan implementation in achieving sales goals. These reports should include information about the development of the prospect and sales platform, as well as orders achieved. Additional focus on gaining market share through these efforts is of great importance.

Marketing Communications (30%) – Develop and distribute product price lists and relevant technical data to regional Sales teams. Develop and implement informational session and training programs as required to achieve business development goals. The training will be geared towards educating the sales managers on the product and selling techniques. Create quotation standards and systems to ensure excellent, prompt response to customer inquiries.

Review market positions and create comparison reports to identify S.W.A.T. analysis. Based on these reports, provide recommendation to management regarding products that could/should be developed, and adjustments to the current product offering. Additionally, monitor competitor pricing to make sure we are competitive in our pricing model.

Customer Service (20%) – Review and respond promptly to customer and sales staff inquiries relevant to the product line. Develop an understanding and collect information, as appropriate, to clarify the needs of the customer or the sales group to better facilitate addressing those needs and expectations. Develop rapport with the sales team through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism, and strengthen the relationship between sales team and marketing team through ensuring a high standard of customer response.

What we expect of you?

Experience – 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and marketing of technical, industrial equipment. Proven ability to successfully achieve sales goals and implement business development planning.

Education – 4-year Engineering, Business, or Marketing degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills – Must be a self-directed team player, who has a positive attitude, can motivate those around them, and is service oriented. Must also have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point, experience in C4C application would be an advantage. Travel to support field sales activities will be required.
