Job Summary · Owns the manufacturing processes for injection-molded and extruded rubber products to meet the business’ goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. · Develops, evaluates and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards. Job Duties · Owns the manufacturing processes for injection-molded and extruded rubber products to meet the business’ goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. · Develops and executes a roadmap for improving the performance of molding and extrusion processes. · Owns manufacturing engineering deliverables for new product launches. · Identifies and procures capital equipment, including extruders, presses, tooling, and auxiliary equipment, to help the business meet goals. · Serves as an in-house expert for rubber material and processing, including interfacing with rubber vendors to resolve material issues. · Works with tooling and equipment vendors to support the business. · Ensures that manufacturing processes adhere to ISO 9001 standards. · Drives process quality, standardization, and improvement by maintaining standard work, work instructions, process maps, PFMEAs, Control Plans, as well as documents used for training of machine operators. · Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer and internal quality issues. · Provides production support in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues. · Educates technicians and operators on the molding and extrusion processes. · Supervises a team of Molding Technicians and improve their processes for mold and die changes and process troubleshooting. · Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency · Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions · Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules or other information to facilitate production processes · Confer with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase and parts · Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards · Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately · Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) · Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures · Perform other duties as assigned Experience and Education · Bachelor of Science degree in: Rubber Engineering Technology, Polymer/Plastics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering · Minimum of 5 years of related experience · Experience in manufacturing of rubber, polymer, or plastic materials and their chemistry · Experience with tooling and equipment used in the manufacture of rubber or plastics products. · Perform work under minimal supervision · Handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff · Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter · Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to subordinate a group · Typically require a bachelor's degree and 4 to 6 years of experience Competencies/ Skills · Lean Manufacturing · New Product Development and Launch · Six Sigma · Advanced Product Quality and Planning · Project Management · Data Modeling · Critical Thinking Skills · Problem Solving Skills · Customer Service Skills · Ability to follow written and verbal directions · Intermediate verbal and written communication skills · Ability to meet deadlines · Ability to work independently as well as part of a team · Analytical thinking skills · Design expertise[post_title] => Manufacturing Engineer, Senior - Rubber Molding and Extrusion [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => closed [ping_status] => closed [post_password] => [post_name] => maclean-power-systems-manufacturing-engineer-senior-rubber-molding-and-extrusion [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2021-03-04 13:25:32 [post_modified_gmt] => 2021-03-04 18:25:32 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://jobsrockhill.com/?post_type=job_listing&p=37367 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => job_listing [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw )
