Company Spotlight: United Way of York County

During the current pandemic, many local companies have been stepping up to provide for their communities, so we have been featuring them in our Company Spotlights.

This month’s spotlight is about United Way of York County, SC. United Way has been chosen for funding from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board program. This federal program assists emergency food and shelter programs, especially in times of economic stress. United Way of York County will allocated this funding to local non-profit organizations with an emphasis on utility, rent, and mortgage assistance.

They are accepting applications until 4PM on May 18th. To receive funds, non-profits must:

  • Be a private voluntary non-profit or governmental unit
  • Be located in and serve York County residents
  • Be eligible to receive federal funds
  • Show a capacity to deliver emergency food or shelter programs
  • Meet required reporting standards for use of federal funds
